Accommodation and care homes
There are two main types of care home. Some offer accommodation and help with personal care such as washing, dressing and going to the toilet. Others also offer nursing care as well as help with these activities.
Supported living is a way of providing housing and support to help vulnerable adults, including people with learning disabilities, to live independently in the community. Supported living arrangements are very flexible and are designed to give each person choice and control over their home and the way they live their life. Each person receives a package of support based on their individual needs.
